You Can Do It!
Even if...if you think you don't have time.
This course is designed with your busy life in mind. The modules are short with just the information you need, no fluff. The whole course should take you less then 3 hours total to complete, but you can break the time up to fit your schedule, usually in 15 to 20 minutes.
Even if...money is an issue.
How much is your time as a teacher worth? If you broke down your salary, how much do you get paid an hour? You aren’t paid to spend nights and weekends on IEPs. Use this course to get back your time.
Even if...I am brand new to teaching.
This course is perfect for new teachers, both in special education or even gen ed teachers who want to understand the IEP process better. You’ll approach your upcoming IEP meetings with confidence.
Even if...I think I already know this stuff.
Laws in special education change all the time. It’s important to keep up with changes that come over the years. And in this particular time, we are learning that our IEPs need to factor in distance learning contingiency plans. We have a module for that.
Even if...I am completely overwhelmed.
You’re not alone. That’s why I will have a private Facebook group for students of the course. Between the information in the course and connecting with others in the group, you’ll be able to gain clarity in the best field ever, special education.
Even if...I'm not great with a computer.
Can you use your phone? This course will work on your phone! Hang out on your couch or sit on the back porch with a cup of coffee (or wine, who am I kidding?) and take the course on your phone. It will also work on tablets or computers. If you can surf the web (and I know you can, because you’re reading this), you have the tech ability to take this online course.
Even if...I am a general education teacher.
Do you have a chance of being in an IEP meeting? If so, then you can benefit from this course. You’ll have a deeper understanding of the process and the role of the general education teacher in the IEP meeting.
Stress Free IEP: The Path to Powerful IEPs
IEPs hold the key to unlocking our students’ potential. If they are done well and implemented with fidelity, it can sometimes feel like a book of magic. I want your students to experience the life-changing power of well-written IEPs. And I want you, teacher friend, to not stay up all night tracking data and writing IEPs either. You deserve rest and time with family, and your students deserve the best of the best when it comes to their IEPs.
You can do both with Stress-Free IEP: The Path to Powerful IEPS.
- Work at your own pace. There are 12 lessons that are broken up into short, manageable bits. You never have to spend more than 20 minutes on the course at a time.
- Clear action items set you up for success. Printable worksheets come with the course to help you brainstorm ideas and learn the step-by-step process of how to implement the IEP.
- Bonus Module to plan for distance learning. Distance learning is going to become our new normal backup plan. Even once our current situation blows over, more districts will look to go to distance learning for inclement weather days. Learn how to plan for distance learning as a contingency plan.
- Gain exclusive access to our Facebook community where you can ask questions about course content and connect with fellow special education teachers taking the course.
- Course Completion Certificate. When you complete the course’s final quiz, you will get a downloadable completion certificate to show your administration your dedication.
One year when I started at a new district, I asked for all the IEPs on my caseload so I could review them before the school year and prepare. Thankfully I did, because I found so many mistakes that needed to be corrected ASAP. Sometimes the service minutes were longer than the school day, making compliance impossible! Because of my finds, we were able to have meetings including my principal and program specialist to get organized and get a game plan to work through the issues before the school year even started. Through this course, you’ll learn to avoid these embarrassing, and sometimes costly, mistakes.
Who am I?
I’m Kirsten Uecker. I’m a certified special education teacher in Texas. I started teaching a self-contained special education class in 2008. Since then, I have taught special education in two other districts, plus I have taught students and adults privately all the way from Kindergarten to college students. I’ve taught both in-person and online to help students with a wide variety of abilities and challenges succeed. Over time, I’ve become passionate about writing powerful IEPs. I know it sounds strange to get fired up about legal documents, but I really do! I want you to be able to write IEPs that make life-changing differences for your students.
